About Me

I enjoy meeting people and sharing direct and honest interactions. I have a reputation for warmth and providing a safe environment for discussing personal issues. My goal in therapy is to help you, at your own pace, learn to experience and express your emotions.  I will prioritize your needs and goals and help you clarify them. As you verbalize what you are thinking and feeling, you will gain access to a growing self-awareness and understanding of the world around you. I love being part of this experience with people and will stay committed to your needs and goals as they change over time.

The treatment orientations that inform my work are modern analytic and existential psychotherapy. I also utilize therapy techniques from other orientations such as solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapy as needed in order to help you meet your specific goals.

I received a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. Since 2015, I have provided individual, family, and group counseling services at LifeWorks, an Austin nonprofit agency with the mission to support youth and families seeking their path to self-sufficiency. I am actively involved in the Austin Group Psychotherapy Society as both a member and volunteer. I am also a member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association.  I received scholarships for advanced training from Austin Group Psychotherapy Society in 2017 and from the American Group Psychotherapy Association in 2018 and 2016.
Community service has been a life-long passion.  I have provided volunteer counseling services through Hope Hospice and Camp Phoenix.  I have served as a Reading Buddy through Communities in Schools, a Play Leader through Austin Child Guidance Center, and a Court Appointment Special Advocate for CASA of Travis County.  I have also served on the boards of Mission Capital and Preservation Austin.  In 2012, I received the Austin Under Forty Award, which recognizes Austinites for leadership in their respective industries and strong commitments to serving the Austin community.
